Challenging False Perceptions

Church and MosqueHave you ever thought that unless you embrace Prophet Mohammed as the last true prophet of God, you are considered to be an unbeliever and your ultimate destiny is a total annihilation by Allah? Have you ever considered the fact that without following the dictates of Quran to a “t” you simply cannot please God or be saved?! The message is simple and straightforward: embrace Mohammed and follow Quran!

As a good Christian you would respond to this proposition by saying that you have already embraced Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior and Lord and committed yourself to following the injunctions of the New Testament! This way you lay a claim to safety from the final destruction and to a sure place in the Kingdom of Heaven. You would also counter-argue that unless your Muslim friends embrace Jesus and believe in the New Testament “Scriptures,” they are eternally damned and will perish in the hellish fires of Gehenna!

Evidently, Mohammedans were neither the first nor the only proponents of the radical idea that unless the world around them embrace their particular Teacher of Righteousness and accept their specific writings as the Word of God it cannot be saved! (The Mormons are yet another example of the “new revelation,” where the “faithful” are required to embrace the new messenger and follow his commands!)

The problem with both Muslim and Christian approaches to faith and practice is that they can “prove” their respective positions and doctrines only from their “Scriptures,” i.e. Quran and the New Testament! By the same token, Mormons can “easily put to shame” the rest of Christendom by citing the Book of Mormon as the “ultimate proof” for their position! I am sure that you begin to see the folly of all these competing worldviews!

We can easily agree that none of the above-mentioned “holy writings” can supersede or replace the Sacred Hebrew Scriptures, given to the Jewish People by the Almighty Himself! This way, the real proof for all things spiritual comes only from the Jewish Bible!

Christianity was among the first to stipulate that no one could be saved without first embracing the Second Person of a three-bodied god as their Savior and Lord! That was a slap in the face of Judaism that continued stubbornly to cling to the One God of Israel! The proofs for new “requirements for salvation” were furnished by the writings of the New Testament, of course!

Thus, for instance, in its esoterically pagan Gospel according to John, the Church insists that “No one comes to God the Father, except through Jesus the Christ.” (John 14:6) The blatantly anti-Semitic Epistles of Saint John declare that “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” (I John 2:23) – What is the basis for these lofty claims?

In her eagerness to create a new religion,(complete with the new tri-partite god of Trinity, new set of laws and “holy” days, etc), the Church has quite often forgotten that the writings of the New Testament have no validity unless they bear out the portent of the Hebrew Scriptures! After all, the NT is supposed to be based on the Jewish Bible and is purported to be a continuation of the Faith of Israel, isn’t it?!

Having said that, I want to be totally clear that the Hebrew Scriptures contain absolutely nothing about the “required” faith in the Jewish Messiah! Messiah is but a tool of the LORD God of Israel. Through his services, God is to bring Israel back to their Covenant with Him, restore the Kingdom of Israel to the zenith of its potential and make Israel a Shining Light unto the Gentiles of the Earth, ultimately bringing the entire planet into the fold of monotheistic worshipers of the God of Israel!

I would like to challenge you to “dig out” at least one clear Messianic passage in the Hebrew Scriptures that would make our faith in the Messiah of Israel a prerequisite to our salvation! I also encourage you to study the Holy Jewish Scriptures carefully in order to discover that the only legitimate object of our faith, trust and worship is the Holy One of Israel! The worship of some Cosmic Christ, (the son of some pagan Trinitarian pantheon), therefore, constitutes idolatry!

There is but one true Savior, beloved! He is the only Redeemer: “Come now, and let us reason together,” says YHVH, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool . . . For I am YHVH your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior . . . I, even I, am YHVH, and besides Me there is no savior . . . Shabbat Shalom 4Thus says YHVH, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel . . . Truly You are God, who hide Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior! . . . For thus says YHVH, Who created the heavens, Who is God . . . “I am YHVH, and there is no other. . . And there is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me . . . I, YHVH, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” (Is. 1:18; 43:3,11,14; 45:15,18-19,21; 49:26)

Have you embraced Him? Do you worship the Holy One of Jacob or someone else? There is no need to embrace anybody or anything else in order to be saved! There is also no salvation until you come to Him and walk in obedience to His Torah! The choice is yours!

Happy Sabbath!
